The Kids Need to Read Holiday Store has some GREAT news!Our Serenity/Firefly packages have been so popular that we are adding four (4) new ones!This week we also have a special treat up for auction.We have an ADORABLE Build-A-Bear monkey that is very special.Not only does she love reading, but her birth certificate is signed by The Kids Need to Read Foundation's founders PJ Haarsma and Nathan Fillion, as well as Serenity/Firefly actor Alan Tudyk!This is one cool monkey!
We also now have available the San Diego Comic-Con Limited Edition Serenity: Better Days #1 Exclusive Variant comic book.This special comic features Will Conrad's rare Dark Horse 100 cover, but in its pencil art form!These
comics were a joint venture between Dark Horse Comics and the
California Browncoats and were sold at San Diego Comic-Con 2008 with
all the proceeds going to The Kids Need to Read Foundation.There were only 5,000 copies made, so this is an especially rare collectorʼs item!

29th October 2008 ~ I just received this email fromNoirin Curran:
Last weekend we ran an auction for charity here in Ireland,
and an autographed picture of Alan that read "I am a leaf on
the wind, watch how I soar" sold for €1000, all for kids
charities.
There's also going to be a charity auction held in Cork at
http://www.warpcon.com on the 24th of January, next, and
I'm putting some EXTRA special Alan Tudyk items that he
gave me this summer up for sale...including a signed photo
that only myself and himself have a copy of, that he
printed off his own computer for me (so, when bought, it'll
be the only copy of the photo besides Alan's own copy) and
one of the keyrings that the cast were given at the end of
filming Serenity, and that's signed up by him too...
and it's all for charity! So spread the word if you feel
like it...all for a good cause :)
